Data relating to "Permanent Crops" is largely the area on farms that is covered by "Forest and Woodland"; in the years up to 2005, it also includes all other land which has been excluded afterward. whereas. The area used to cultivate fruit and fibre crops, which is less than one percent of the land in crops is included in the "Arable Land" category.
Croatia:
Starting in 1996 the "Arable land" figures exclude non-cultivated arable land; the "Permanent meadows and pastures" figures exclude state-owned land not currently used for agricultural production. The country data on "Forest area" reported to the Global Forest Resource Assessment (FRA) and the FAO land resource questionnaire differ slightly due to different concepts and definition. However, we display the data reported to FRA since FAO member countries are requested officially to report information on forest area through the FRA process, where a common definition is used for all the countries. The "Agricultural area" excludes the area under bogs and heaths which is about 1782 (1000 ha) in the year 2004, 1746 (1000 ha) in the year 2008 and 1668 (1000 ha) in 2009 and 1836 (1000ha) in 2010. Data relating to "Temporary meadows and pastures" refer to temporary grass under 10 years.
Israel:
Data relating to "Country area" and "Land area" include the Golan Heights.
Japan:
Starting in 2001, data relating to "Permanent meadows and pastures" are classified under the category "Temporary meadows" and therefore included under the category "Arable land". Data on "Total area equipped for irrigation" refer to cultivated acreage of Paddy field only.
Latvia:

Netherlands Antilles
The federation of the Netherlands Antilles was formally dissolved on 10 October 2010. In the year 2011 the data relating to the former Dutch Caribbean dependency (Curaçao, Sint Maarten (Dutch part), Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba) are not disseminated separately; however these data have been included in the regional, continental and world total.
New Zealand:
"Arable land" category includes other land in farms in the period 1961 -2001; "Permanent meadows and pastures" category includes fallow land and arable fodder in the period 1961-2001, starting in 2002 data refer to grassland and tussock and danthonia used for grazing.
Oman:
Data on Temporary meadows and pastures refer to area of perennial fodder crops.
Pacific Islands:
Starting in 1995 data for the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are shown separately. Data on "Forest area" (for the years 1990-1994) have been calculated by adding the "Forest area" of each trust territory. Poland:
